The Tech Affairs Committee is the main source of innovation in TAMU SHPE. We dedicate our time to provide members leadership and technical experience that better prepares them for the engineering industry. As a new member to the committee you are guided through the process of creating your own personal website. This website allows you to provide recruiters an interactive extension of your resume and helps you stand out in a sea of qualified engineers. After successfully creating your website, you are encourage to join (or potentially start your own) a project team with one of our project leads. The purpose of the MentorSHPE Committee is to plan and execute all MentorSHPE events throughout the semester. These events will help mentors and mentees develop together socially, professionally, and academically.
The purpose of the Scholastic Committee is to provide resources and hold events to assist TAMU SHPE members in prospering academically. The committee will run Study Hours weekly and host events focused on academic resources, graduate school, and scholarships to name a few.
Objective:
Establish strong communication with other professional organizations such as SEC, HPC, NSBE, and SWE and the TAMU SHPE Former Students.
Assignments: Work alongside the President and the Former Students Representative to plan
joint events with other professional organizations and the Former Students, such as the Alumni Tailgate. Help build and maintain the MemberSHPE Database.

Objective: Encourage and empower the women in STEM through engaging activities that promote community and professional development.
Assignments: Assist with researching, planning, and organizing event ideas that promote the objective of the SHPEtina Program.

Responsibilities: Be an additional voice to the SHPE Jr and Jones committees and events. Attend all meetings and as many events. Voice opinions Interact(virtually for fall and hopefully in person for spring) with teachers, students and SHPE members in order to work for the common goal of instilling our pillars.
Objective: Help with general membership communication and upkeep, as well as preparing for general meetings. Description of Tasks: Helping respond to emails, keeping track of points, creating agendas, and maintaining a relationship with the members.
The purpose of this committee is to have the opportunity to enhance one’s creativity, leadership, and marketing/advertising skills for the image of TAMU SHPE. PR committee members will be working with Canva, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn to promote and recruit members for the organization. We will also be working with outside companies to produce merchandise for TAMU SHPE. If you are interested, be ready to bring ideas and fill out the application below! Our main objective is to organize and coordinate all athletics, social, and volunteering related events. This committee provides an opportunity to voice your opinions and improve the events we host. For example, we get to decide what food is served during general meetings, what social events we host, what theme we use for our annual banquet, etc. It's an amazing experience and an opportunity to join the best committee!
Objective: Assist to achieve all goals for TAMU SHPE’s Professional & Leadership Development pillar. Help with planning and execution of workshops and National Convention logistics. Objective: Research, plan, and assist to achieve all goals for TAMU SHPE’s Professional & Leadership Development pillar. Assignments: Responsible for each semester’s Professional & Leadership Development workshops and activities. This schedule of events should be in accordance to semester/annual goals set forth by the Executive Board. Work with the Vice President and Executive Board to plan and execute workshops to help our members with networking, leadership, and professionalism. SOFC Committee: Assists the treasurer with paperwork and applications for the Student Organization Finance Center. Responsible for handling cash, picking up checks and turning in forms by a prescribed deadline. Fundraising Committee: Works with treasurer to plan and coordinate fundraising events and profit shares. Responsible for establishing contact with local business and seeking appropriate permits to carry out such events.
